In Texas you can own a gun for use on your property and home defense, without a CHL (Concealed Handgun License) or LTC (License To Carry).

Truthfully though, you really need to talk with someone, find out all the pros and cons of gun ownership and think things all the way through before you go plunking down the $$ for a good gun. All of us here at Precision Gunsmiths have been trained, have a LTC and carry concealed. We also know there are deep moral and legal concerns about what happens after the 'bang'.
